DIY Chandelier for baby's room!

I cannot wait to get to work on this project! I fell in love with the pottery barn version of this (which is way out of my budget!) so I was elated to find this easy DIY version on one of my favorite blogs!

Now we are getting down to the details. We know baby is a girl so I can start getting out the things we've save from our first born and picking up the things we don't already have. Here's the list of to do's that I've thought of:

1. Get boxes of newborn clothes from attic to wash.
2. Get box of bottles and nipples from attic to wash. (seeing a pattern here)
3. Locate Bumbo seat in attic.
4. Find a table that I can repurpose as a bedside table for nursery.
5. Purchase new swing and stroller/ carseat combo.
6. Paint nursery and make decor for the walls.
This is just the stuff I can think of right now. I'm sure this list will get much, much longer..........

BIG NEWS!!

Finally got to the exciting part yesterday at my 20 week OB appointment. We did the usual pee in a cup, got weighed (only gained 9 lbs total !!! YAY!) we listened to baby's heartrate (150ish) and measured my ever growing belly (20 inches from pubis to top of fundus). Then....he said it..."time to schedule your Anatomy Scan". I was SOOOOO ready! He said I could do it anytime that was good for me. Thats when my favorite nurse ever, Julie, said, "wanna do it today?" HELL YES I DO! So after an hour of driving myself and my 3 year old around town trying to fill my bladder, we arrived back in the ultrasound department.
My daughter was really excited to be there (since my hubby is 400 miles away hauling oil). The tech squirted that freezing cold gel on my belly and set to work getting the images she needs for the Radiologist as I anxiously waited to hear any indication of what the gender was. She said the baby was sitting on it's booty and that it was going to be tough to determine sex if it didn't move. UGH...figures! So, after she got all the Dr's images, she stood up to print those out and I started jiggling my belly like Santa to get that little stinker to move!
Apparently it worked! The tech took some shots of it's face and little hands and feet. She saved the best for last. We finally, after about an hour, got a perfect shot between the legs.............................................................
So now, I would like to introduce, baby GIRL Avery Lynn!!

Just a Quick Rant......

I absolutely hate USPS tracking. Grrrrrrrr........ I ordered a handheld doppler unit so we could listen to the baby"s heartbeat at home (since the hubby can't get to the dr. appts with me). That was a week ago and all the tracking service says is "arrival scan". Arrival where? Certainly not here! Dangit!!

Waiting Games are not fun....

Aren't games supposed to be fun? Im waiting yet another month, at least, to find out if this baby has a weeny or not. Boo..... I have scoured the internet for any and all old wives tales, alternative methods of predicting gender with no luck finding anything promising.
A company called intelligender has a test out that claims to predict gender based on your urine, but I dont buy it. I have been unable to find any studies outside of their own website to confirm their claims, so Im not wasting $35 on it.
Other than waiting, there's not a whole lot going on yet. I'm unable to zip or button my pants but am still not really obviously pregnant. I picked up a Be Band at Target so I can continue to wear my regular jeans and I love it! Where was thing when I was pregnant with my daughter!!!
I guess I wont continue to bore you about the not so exciting details. I will post when there's a bit more to report.
